The questions we get asked most
Straight answers on scope, engineering, assembly, shipping and quoting. Where an answer depends on your project, we say so.
What we supply
Light gauge steel wall frames, roof framing, framing screws and panel connectors, service-hole grommets, manufacturing and erection drawings, clearly labelled components, and flat-packed framing prepared for transport.
No. A kitset is the structural steel framing package. Cladding, roofing, joinery, linings, insulation, services, foundations and site works are arranged separately and confirmed in the quotation.

We may be able to supply other kitset types including garages, sheds, small cabins and other selected designs, depending on the design and destination. Ask us about your specific requirement.
Yes. Dimensions, veranda options and internal layouts can usually be adjusted within a design. If what you want sits outside the seven kitsets, send us your own drawings and we will design a custom frame from scratch.
No. We are a steel frame manufacturer and supplier only. Cladding, roofing, doors, windows, linings, insulation and services are arranged separately by you or your builder.
Engineering and performance
Steel framing can be designed for the project’s specific wind and cyclone requirements when supported by the appropriate site information and engineering. Building performance also depends on foundations, hold-downs, connections, cladding, roof design and correct installation.
Steel framing does not provide a food source for termites. Other materials in the building may still require appropriate protection.
Coating class, fasteners and detailing are specified for the corrosion environment of the site. Durability also depends on protected cut edges, correct storage, correct detailing and installation quality.
Engineering may be arranged through trusted independent engineers where required. It is quoted separately and remains subject to availability and project location.
Assembly and builders
The standard method is assembly by a local builder at the destination, working to the erection drawings we supply.
For suitable projects we can help coordinate experienced New Zealand builders who may travel. These services are quoted separately and remain subject to availability and project location. They are independent businesses, not our employees.
Standard power tools and screw fixing. Builders familiar with timber framing generally adapt quickly, and we can support them remotely.
Shipping and freight
Yes. Choosing a design, drawings, quotation and manufacture all happen here in New Zealand, so you can work through them with us without travelling. We then hand your labelled, flat-packed frame to our own third-party shipping handler and can put you in direct contact with them. The standard method is assembly by a local builder at the destination, working to the erection drawings we supply.
We welcome enquiries from throughout the Pacific. Freight availability, container requirements and delivery costs are confirmed individually for each destination and project.
We hand your labelled, flat-packed frame to our own third-party shipping handler and can put you in direct contact with them. Freight, customs and delivery are then coordinated between you and the handler. We stay available to help if something comes up, but day-to-day coordination isn’t something we manage, so we can stay focused on manufacturing.
Import duties, taxes and customs clearance are the responsibility of the importer unless your quotation states otherwise. We supply the commercial documentation the shipment needs.
Off the ground on bearers, covered but ventilated, clear of standing water, cement dust and salt spray. Storage instructions are supplied with every shipment.
